Microsoft have announced that on March 1st, 2022, the monthly cost for its Microsoft 365 and Office 365 packages will be increasing.

While currently only reported in dollars, Microsoft state in the blog by Jared Spataro, that on or by 1st March 2022, Microsoft will update their price lists, and the pricing will consider llocal market adjustments for certain regions. We expect the figures to be shown in pounds sterling once this price list has been released.

While an increase is never welcome, Microsoft have stated that since Office 365 launched (28th June 2011), they have continued to build upon the service and implement new features to meet the changing needs of their increasing customer base, and the price rise is to reflect the increase in value these additions have provided to Microsoft’s customers.

At time of writing, there were no price changes announced for Microsoft’s Education and Consumer focused packages and the price changes are only applied to Microsoft’s commercial packages such as Business Basic and Business Premium.

The proposed price increases are as follows;

Microsoft 365 Business Basic (from $5 to $6 per user, per month)
Microsoft 365 Business Premium (from $20 to $22 per user, per month)
Office 365 E1 (from $8 to $10 per user, per month)
Office 365 E3 (from $20 to $23 per user, per month)
Office 365 E5 (from $35 to $38 per user, per month)
Microsoft 365 E3 (from $32 to $36 per user, per month)
